The Georgia State Little League Association created the Rookie Baseball Tournament in 2012.  The Rookie Softball Tournament was added in 2014.  The tournament is limited to league age 7 and 8 year-old's.

These are Special Games Tournaments and as such the state association applies for and receives approval every year to host the tournaments.   The rules of the tournaments are submitted for approval before play can begin.

The state uses a Tournament Eligibility Affidavit, similar to the one used by Little League International, to verify the age and residence of every player.  

The Tournament is broken down into 3 sections:  District, Section and State.  

• District:  Each district advances 2 teams to the Section. 
• Section:  There are 3 sections in the state: NW (districts 1, 2, 3,4); NE (districts 6, 7, 10) and S (districts 5, 8, 9).   The winner of each section advances to the state tournament.
• State:  The State Tournament is hosted by Warner Robins American Little League and Southeastern Region.  The tournament is held in June, usually over Father's Day weekend.

Note:  Beginning with the 2023 Tournament Season, all managers/coaches, and any replacement coaches, must complete the Diamond Leader Training prior to being appointed to a tournament team.   Register and take the course.  It is recommended that you print your completion certificate and include it in the tournament team paperwork.

Rookie Baseball Tournaments are open to league age 7 and 8 year-old's only.

District Tournaments for Rookie Baseball will be determined by each district.

Section Tournaments for Rookie Baseball:

• NW Section: Start date is June 3, subject to change. Games played at Smyrna Little League     
• NE Section: Start date is June 3, subject to change.  Games played at Martinez Evans Little League
• S Section: Start date is June 9, subject to change.  Games played in or around Warner Robins American Little League 

State Tournament For Rookie Baseball:

• June 16-18 at Warner Robins American Little League Field
• Championship games played on the SE Region field
