Coach Pitch Baseball

The Coach Pitch baseball division is for players 'baseball' age 5-6 who want to continue developing the fundamentals of hitting and fielding, building from the Tee Ball division.

In Coach Pitch, a coach delivers pitches to the batter, replacing the use of a tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching.

The primary goals of Coach Pitch are to teach children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Basic hitting, fielding, catching and throwing fundamentals are stressed. Coach Pitch is an instructional program which allows for equal playing time for all players in attendance.

The diamond used is a 40-foot diamond with a distance of 125 feet along the foul lines, and a pitching distance of 37 feet.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this introduction level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.
